Hello There:D

Recently I’ve been reading this book, Welcome to the Revolution by Brian Tome, and well.. it kind of inspired me to do something more. This wasn’t the first time I wanted to do something for the Kingdom of God, just before reading this book I had read Do Hard Things (I forgot the author). Do Hard Things was about how just because you’re young doesn’t mean you can’t change the world or do something affective in His Kingdom. Anyways, after reading those two book, I was left inspired but I didn’t know what to do or where to start. I asked family and friends and they gave me a couple of ideas but none of them felt right. A few weeks later, somehow my mom and I started this conversation about my grades. We were talking about the subjects I excelled at and the subjects I need to work harder on. Then, my mom started telling me how good I was in writing and that I should be an author one day. I just laughed and responded, “Haha.. yeah, sure. I’m not as good as you think”. That night I didn’t think much about that conversation, until I was watching this show on TV about how God talks to you; the preacher was saying that sometimes God talks to you through conversations with friends, reading the bible, and that God doesn’t just talk to you in an audible voice. Immediately when he said that, I remembered the conversation with my mom and that gave me the answer I was looking for. I will write for God. I was looking for big things to do like raise money for a well in Africa but the answer was quite simple. Many times, we want to do big things for the Kingdom of God but the small things are just as important as the big things. God has plans and a purpose for all of us. God’s plan for some of us might be a project where you are in the spotlight or a project that you don’t get much thanks for. Regardless, God sees what you do and his Word says that he will “reward each person according to what he has done” (Matt 16:27 and Ps. 62:12) We each are called to do something unique. Imagine, what if everyone wanted to do the “big things” and there was no one to do the small things like talk to your next door neighbor about God or donate your hair to locks of love? Another thing you must remember, is that God starts you off slowly. He’ll start you off with small projects that seem simple but He needs to know you’ll follow him everywhere He sends you. The small projects will help you in your spiritual walk so always tune into the Holy Spirit to see what he’s prompting you to do (More on that later). As I was saying, God is building you up to the big projects. How do you expect to handle the big stuff when you can’t handle the small? In the Word it says, “For God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.” (1 John 3:20) His knowledge is greater than ours and he knows all, that’s why we have to trust him because he wants what’s best for us. “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11) Sometimes we’re not ready for the things we want to do.

Thank You Lord for showing me that the small stuff matters. I trust that you want the best for me and you will lead me in the right direction.
